Homeward Bound Team Western Australia 2019
Seventy five women, representing 26 different countries were chosen to join the 2019 cohort of Homeward Bound. Five women based in Western Australia were selected: Dr. Lesley Sefcik (Curtin University) who has a background in global change impacts on forest ecosystems and works in a Learning and Teaching related role, Dr. Ines Melendez (Woodside) and Dr. Valentina Taranovic (CSIRO) who work in the earth/geological sciences, Dr. Deirdre Collins (Edith Cowan University) who is a microbiologist examining the growing problem of Clostridium difficile, and Yalimay Jiménez (Curtin University - WA OIGC PhD student) who is studying biodegradation of petroleum by microbial mats.
